School of Applied Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
On October 7, 2024 the School of AAFNR was officially launched at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Read more about the event:
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Agronomy degree is a 2+2 partnership between Minnesota State University, Mankato and South Central College.
Students can start by earning their associate’s degree at SCC, then transfer to MSU to complete their degree OR students can start at MSU, and integrate required coursework at SCC into their academic plan.
The Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Affinity Group consists of interdisciplinary faculty, administrators, staff, students, community members working together on research and projects in the region related to agriculture and food.
The School of AAFNR demonstrates the university's commitment to ensuring a strong and vibrant agriculture and food sector into the future.
The decision to invest in the creation of the School of AAFNR is in direct response to student demand and the needs of industry partners across Greater Mankato and the region.
Student involvement and a sense of belonging to the community are critical to student retention and success. The School of AAFNR includes several high impact practices for students to engage in.
